Kerala State Film Critics Association Award : Mammootty bagged Best Actor

The Kerala Film Critics Association announced their annual awards, with Mammootty winning the best actor award for his role in “Pranchiyettan and the Saint”. The film “Gaddama” directed by Kamal was selected as the best Malayalam film of the year 2010, with Kamal winning the best director award and Kavya Madhavan winning the best actress award for her performance in the same film. “Makaramanju” directed by Lenin Rajendran was selected as the second best film. Biju Menon and Samvritha Sunil were awarded as the second best actors for their roles in various films. The award for best script went to Ranjith for his work in “Pranchiyettan and the Saint”. “Janakan” and “Shikar” were chosen as the best popular films. Veteran director K S Sethumadhavan was awarded the “Chalachithra Rathnam”, while Jagannatha Varma, Santhakumari and Bichu Thirumala received the “Chalachithra Prathibha” honors. Other award winners included Vinod Mankara, Mohan Raghavan, Kaithapram, M Jayachandran, Shankar Mahadevan and Shreya Ghoshal, Madhu Ambat, Gokul Das, and Salim Kumar. The awards were sponsored by the Atlas Group and announced by its chairman M M Ramachandran and Thekkinkad Joseph, President of the Film Critics Association.
