Tamil and Malayalam film actors Mammootty and Sarath Kumar jointly launched the website for their upcoming film, “Pazhassi Raja,” in Chennai on Tuesday. The stars of the film, which tells the story of a legendary Malayali prince who died fighting the British, appeared together for the first time in almost 19 years.
Mammootty plays the lead role of the prince, while Sarath plays his warrior. The film has a budget of around 30 crores, making it one of the most expensive films in the Malayalam language.
Sarath expressed his excitement about the film, saying he was happy to play a character that suited him well, given his physical build. He added that working with Mammootty was a great experience.
Mammootty commented on the recent success of southern film productions at the 55th National Awards, where they picked up several key awards. He also mentioned a few of his future film projects, including “Aruvadai” with Arjun, which is almost finished, and several other films including “Loudspeaker” with Jayaraj and “Kerala Café.”
