Malayalam Superstar Mammootty is finally entering Kannada film industry. He has signed to star in Abhay Singh directed Kannada movie Shikari. The movie deals with the pre and post independence condition in India. The story and screenplay is by Abhay Singh.
Many Kannada directors and producers have tried hard to bring in the actor in Kannada movies for many years, but nobody was successful. Koti producer has contacted him many times, but he had denied the offer stating that he did not like the story. It is said that so for he has refused to act in Kannada films for he did not like the story of the movie. Now he is impressed with the story of the movie Shikari and come forward to star in the same. With this movie, Mammootty is going to fulfill his dream of acting in films of all south Indian languages.
Actor Mammootty is not at all bothered about the remuneration, if he likes the story. “I know that there is no much demand in Kannada film industry. So I don’t mind the remuneration. You decides the remuneration according to the market of Kannada films,” Mammootty said to Shikari producer NR Shetty.
Anmol Bhave will score the music for the movie, while Shrivatsa cranks the camera. The shooting of the movie will be done in Karnataka.
