Mammootty, unquestionably one of the most versatile actors in the country, has been pushing the boundaries of cinema in recent years, taking on unconventional and experimental roles in films like Puzhu, Rorshach, Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, and more.
In the latter half of 2022, it was announced that the veteran actor would be starring in Jeo Baby’s next project, titled “Kaathal – The Core,” with Jyothika as his co-star. In a recent social media announcement, Mammootty revealed that the film is set to hit the big screens on November 23 of this year.
“Kaathal – The Core” is a drama film and marks Jeo Baby’s sixth feature film, known for his 2021 hit “The Great Indian Kitchen.” Apart from Mammootty and Jyothika, the film features a talented ensemble cast, including Joji John, Jisshu Sengupta, Muthumani, and more. Notably, this film marks Jyothika’s return to Malayalam cinema after a 14-year hiatus.
The screenplay for “Kaathal – The Core” is penned by Adarsh Sukumaran and Paulson Skaria and is produced by Mammootty under his production banner, Mammootty Kampany. The film’s musical score is composed by Mathews Pulickan, with Salu K. Thomas as the cinematographer and Francies Louis as the editor.
Mammootty has a slate of exciting films on the horizon, including the highly anticipated “Yatra 2,” a sequel to the 2019 film of the same name. He is also set to star in the upcoming film “Bazooka,” directed by debutant filmmaker Deeno Dennis. Additionally, Mammootty is part of the horror thriller “Bramayugam,” which also features Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and more in prominent roles, directed by Rahul Sadasivan.
As for Jyothika, she is making her return to Bollywood and will feature in the upcoming film “Sri,” alongside Rajkummar Rao, Alaya F, Sharad Kelkar, and others. She is also slated to be a part of an untitled Vikas Bahl film, which boasts a cast that includes R Madhavan, Ajay Devgn, and other prominent names.
