Thiruvananthapuram: The ‘Ashwasam’ project, initiated by actor Mammootty to help destitute patients, will kick off in Thiruvananthapuram. The project, jointly conducted by Mammootty’s Care and Share International Foundation and Aaluv Rajagiri Hospital, will be inaugurated at MGM School on July 26th at Vaikom. Minister G. R. Anil will inaugurate the project.
Geevergis Yohannan, the Vice Chairman of the Care and Share International Foundation, will preside over the inauguration ceremony. The project had received more than thirty applications from various parts of the district, seeking assistance for bedridden patients suffering from severe illnesses and for elderly homes taking care of bedridden patients. Among them, three deserving organizations were selected, as informed by the Chairman of Care and Share International, K. Muraleedharan S.F.C.
Last month, Mammootty had inaugurated the state-level inauguration of the Ashwasam project in Kochi. The project will be implemented under the Munthakal Gram Panchayat in Thiruvananthapuram district. The Pain and Palliative Society of Vaettinadu and the Primary Health Center in Vaettinadu, working under the Pain and Palliative Society, will receive oxygen concentrators during the Thiruvananthapuram district-level inauguration ceremony.
